Sourcing Excellent Ethical Cacao
We source high quality, ethically produced, nutrient rich, indigenous grown and stewarded cacao directly from Ruk'u'x Ulew Mayan Women's Collective in Guatemala, founded in 2016. Mayans have been drinking cacao for thousands of years on this land.
Single origin criollo cacao beans are sent from a small family farm in Alta-Verapaz, Coban to San Marcos La laguna, Lake Atitlán, where 15 indigenous Mayan women, ranging from youg mothers to grandmothers, work with the cacao beans, hand peeling each bean one by one with love and intention.
